When you take hot baths or showers, your skin can suffer as a result in dryness and flaking. Also, even the most moisturizing body washes can still be unable to truly help out your skin as you continue to daily leech out your skin's natural moisture with your steaming hot showers or baths. However, you can add more moisture to your body wash (even the most generic ones) and give your skin a real boost to moisture and health, even if you bathe or shower so hot you turn into a lobster. Here are my tips to getting the most out of your body wash.
Add almond oil, vitamin E oil, or your own daily lotion to your bottle of body wash to make your body wash that much more luxurious on your skin. 2 tablespoons of whatever moisture aid you'd like to add should be sufficient for any bottle of body wash. Shake the bottle before use to thoroughly mix the oils or lotion into the body wash contents so when you apply the body wash to your skin, the moisturizers can help keep your skin smooth while you cleanse yourself.
If you fear your body wash being too oily or slick on your skin, add 2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel to your body wash instead. Aloe Vera helps to protect the skin and generate new skin cell growth, so even as you cleanse your skin with your body wash, you don't have to fear drying out your skin in the process via the hot water and the body wash to clean yourself.
Especially in winter months, where skin is more prone to dryness due to colder conditions and dry air due to heating your home, adding oils or other moisturization to your body wash can make a huge difference in the protection of your skin. You can keep your healthy skin and still enjoy your hot bath or shower in simply adding moisture to your daily body wash. It works wonderfully to protect your skin!
